At Philip Harris we’re Celebrating our 200th Anniversary

The year is 1817; Waterloo Bridge first opens, Johann Arfvedson discovers lithium and Baron Karl Drais unveils his ‘dandy horse’ – the earliest incarnation of the bicycle, in Mannheim, Germany.

However, closer to home in Birmingham, a chemist called Philip Harris starts a business with Thomas Ellis.

While much has changed over the last 200 years, the values that Philip Harris and Thomas Ellis founded our organisation on remain the same. So today, the team at Philip Harris HQ are still as passionate about science as our founder was, and continue his commitment to supplying high quality, affordable products designed to engage students, encourage experimentation and inspire them to become the next generation of scientists.

We have plenty planned this year to celebrate this milestone so keep your eyes peeled.
