This kit enables students to identify quantitatively naturally occurring antibodies (immunoglobulin A) in their saliva. These antibodies are the important first line of defence against infections of all kinds and are responsible for attacking pathogens in ‘external’ body environments. The principle of immunodiffusion - diffusion of saliva through an agar gel containing antiserum is employed to detect the antibody. Suitable for ‘A’ level and college students.
