Power House EA
Power House is a comprehensive wind power kit that allows pupils to build a working wind turbine to harness the power of air making the subject of environmental protection and energy conservation more tangible. This hands-on model helps teach about renewable resources, sustainable living and provides an overview of the many forms of alternative energy.
The 64-page, full-colour experiment manual offers instructions to guide you through the 20+ thorough experiments including how to demonstrate the power of wind, lighting an LED bulb and charging a rechargeable battery, as well as scientific explanations, and energy-saving tips. By building the Power House and then conducting experiments in and around the house, classes will learn about energy-efficient construction materials and passive house design. They will also be able to experiment with heating, cooling, conduction, convection, and insulation, investigate the Earth's climate, the water cycle, and the Sun. They are endless number of experiments that can be carried our such as testing passive solar collection methods with a solar collector, hooking up a photovoltaic solar panel to generate electricity from sunlight, building wind turbines to extract energy from the wind and constructing a greenhouse to learn about the energy conservation tricks used by plants. This is a very versatile and resourceful product!
