DC and RMS Voltage Board
Product code: B8R07401
Product Description
This elegant experiment allows students to investigate the relationship between the heating effect of a d.c. and an a.c. voltage. The d.c. voltage is provided by 3 AA batteries and the a.c. voltage by a power signal generator set to 50Hz. A slide switch enables either d.c. or a.c. voltages to be selected. The a.c. amplitude is adjusted until the bulb brightness is the same brightness in both switch positions, at which point an oscilloscope can be used to confirm that the peak voltage of the a.c. input is 1.414 X the d.c. voltage.
